Kay Bona of the Daily Record won first place in the Arkansas Press Association’s annual Cover Photo Contest for the third straight year. This year’s entry by Bona was “Crystal Bridges Stream,” which is on the cover of the APA 2013 Arkansas Media Directory. Becca Bona, also with the Daily Record, placed third with “Broadway Bridge.” Becca is Kay’s niece.
This is the APA’s 11th annual Cover Photo Contest, in which more than 40 entries vied for places on the front of the publication. All eight finalists can be seen in the APA forums at www.arkansaspress.org.
In second place was “Butterfly Two” by Michael Orrell of the El Dorado News-Times. Frank Fellone of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, tied for third place with his photo of “Tupelo Trees.” Fellone is this year’s APA board president.
