The National Cemetery downtown is always a solemn place to visit with its stately trees, quiet atmosphere and the peaceful surroundings. On this day, nearing sunset, it was no different. Everyone on the outside of the cemetery was busy going home from work, preparing to wind down their day. Standing here however, among all of those who had at one time, fought bravely for our country – they are already home, and everything was quiet, peaceful and sacred. Standing here watching the sun set, you felt nothing but the wind blowing, and could hear nothing but the birds singing.
