“Morning has Broken” This is a picture of the covered bridge in Burns Park, located in North Little Rock. It was used as a training camp for soldiers during World War I, called Camp Pike. Fox holes and other remnants of the camp can still be found along the trails and other areas of the park. Burns Park spans both side of Interstate 40, at exit 150. The 1,700-acre park has something for everyone. It features a pre-Civil War log cabin, covered bridge, accessible fishing pier, playgrounds, camping, 36-hole golf course, disc golf courses, soccer, tennis, Union Pacific Caboose, BMX racing, hiking trails, including access to the Arkansas River Trail; seasonal amusement park, archery range and dog park.
