Arkansas has had a mild winter, making way for early blooms. My favorite is the notorius Magnolia. I believe this one is called a Ann Magnolia. Seeing the contrast of the bare branches and the beautiful pinkish purple blooms give me inspiration at this time of year. Out with the old ... in with the new. There are about 210 species of Magnolias. Texarkana is home to the one of the largest Southern Magnolia trees in Arkansas standing 70 feet tall with a crown of 82 feet.
