Natural State Snapshot

During a recent photography outing, I came upon a cotton field ready for picking and I couldn’t resist the urge to get out and snap a few up-close shots. This is one of my favorites. I showed the pictures to my mother, who grew up picking cotton, and it brought back so many fond memories of her home in Dyess, Ark. Maybe it will bring back a few memories for you too. “Cotton is King” is a southern slogan from years past. I’m not quite sure if it’s King today, but it still reigns – in our fields and in our hearts!
