Commercial Real Estate Person of the Year 2023

Bryan Day, Executive Director for the Port Authority of Little Rock

Since he was appointed executive director of the Little Rock Port Authority in June 2014, Bryan has overseen tremendous growth and change at the Port of Little Rock. Years in the making, one of the changes is the relocation of an aviation navigation beacon, known as a VOR cone, to free up the 55 acres where it is located, and allow for assemblage and development of thousands more acres. Bryan expects that the new beacon across the Arkansas River will be active in September of 2024, allowing work at the Port site to proceed. Relocation of the VOR cone allows for the Port of Little Rock to proceed with efforts to complete a “supersite”. The list of new companies locating at the Port of Little Rock and companies expanding at the Port under Bryan’s watch is long. Some of those are Amazon, Elopak, Trex, and Boyd Metals. The long list of companies investing at the Port means a long list of jobs being created at the Port. The Port of Little Rock has a longstanding history as an economic development catalyst.
