Little Rock Athletics celebrated the Thompson Family of Thompson Electric as the honorees for the 15th Annual SpectacuaLR event benefiting Trojan Athletics.

The annual gala and fundraiser took place last Tuesday night at the Jack Stephens Center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. The event  also featured a silent auction with items ranging from memorabilia, gift packages, and one-of-a-kind experiences.

The Thompson family established a scholarship for Trojan baseball as well as contributed to a scholarship fund for student-athletes who were granted an extra year of eligibility due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Beyond athletics, the family has also provided support for UA Little Rock, assisting numerous departments on campus including three academic endowments.

Since opening in Mabelvale in 1983, Thompson Electric has proudly served central Arkansas for over 40 years. There are now three generations of Thompsons working at the company. In addition to their support of UA Little Rock, Thompson Electric also sponsored an American Legion baseball team for 14 years as well as many other youth teams across central Arkansas.

Over the past 14 years, SpectacuaLR has raised nearly $3.3 million since its inaugural event in 2009. These generous donations are used to help fund the 15 Trojan athletic programs, annually benefiting more than 270 student-athletes who represent Little Rock Athletics.
