Celebrating 75 Years of Legal Excellence

May 26 - June 1, 2025

As the Pulaski County Bar Association (PCBA) marked its 75th anniversary, President Megan Wells ceremoniously passed the gavel to incoming President William O. “Will” James III. Ms. Wells led the milestone meeting with the same grace and poise that characterized her entire term.

A highlight of the event was the unveiling of a composite display honoring the past 75 presidents of the PCBA—a testament to the organization’s rich history and Ms. Wells’ dedication to preserving its legacy.

Reflecting on the association’s journey since its founding in 1950, Ms. Wells emphasized the PCBA’s role at the intersection of law and leadership. She noted that its members have not only met the evolving demands of justice but have often led the way. From the civil rights movement to contemporary debates on education, criminal justice, and individual liberties, the PCBA has been a steadfast voice for progress.

“What makes the PCBA enduring is not just our commitment to justice, but our commitment to one another,” Ms. Wells remarked. “This organization provides a space for colleagues to break bread, exchange ideas, and even disagree—civilly and constructively—with the shared goal of strengthening the Arkansas legal community.”

As the PCBA looks to the future, it remains committed to advancing justice and upholding the highest ideals of integrity, learning, competence, and public service. In an era where division often defines public discourse, the collaborative work of the PCBA and its members is more vital than ever.

Here’s to the next 75!
