Conway adds new member to Chamber of Commerce

January 20-26, 2014

In winning the 2013 Chamber of the Year award, the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce has proved its excellence and created standards to uphold. To get a sense of the Chamber’s success with citizens; one need only ask around.

“The Chamber’s doors are always open. We pride ourselves on having a listening ear to our community. We want everyone to know we want to help them, and I believe that our advocacy for the community has really helped us be so successful,” said the newest member of the Chamber’s team, Jimmy Warren.

Warren recently accepted a position with the chamber as the Director of Membership.

The Crossett native couldn’t be more enthused for his new duties within the relatively new town he calls home.

“I like the friendliness of the people and the local businesses the best. Everyone is extremely friendly and the community is great for raising children,” he said.

Warren moved to Conway over three years ago to take a job with Hewlett-Packard. Warren graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a degree in communications. He and his wife have two kids, who have settled in nicely to Conway-living.

Essentially Warren will act as the face of the Chamber by attending ribbon cuttings and helping new members get the most out of their relationship with the Chamber. Warren has not accepted the new position without visions of how to better Conway. “I think Conway is definitely great but we are always working hard to see what can be improved; we want Conway to be the best in all aspects ranging from education to shopping to medical,” he said.

By getting involved he has already proved his interest in the community. As a volunteer with Junior Achievement of Arkansas, Soaring Wings Ranch and Carolyn Lewis Elementary School, he has put down some roots. And even though he’s made a nice start, he plans to keep moving forward through his position.

Warren is looking forward to his new position; specifically he is excited about “[G]etting out and meeting our members. I’m excited to get more involved in the community.”

His enthusiasm is contagious. He is already ready to make improvements saying, “If there is ever anything that I can do to help please let me know. I can be reached at 501.932.5405 and Jimmy@ConwayArkansas.org.”
